The game was played at Scotia Bank Place in Ottawa to a record attendance of 20,500 and was won by Canada by a score of 5 to 1. This was Canada's 5th straight Gold Medal win in the IIHF World Junior Tournament. This years Tournament also set a record total attendance of 450,000 over the 31 games that started on Dec 26th, 2008 and ended on Jan 5th, 2009.
