Battersea Power Station is a famous local landmark to the north of the estate. It was constructed in the 1930s generating power and heating for local estates until being decommissioned in 1983. Since that time the Grade II listed building has decayed whilst a series of controversial redevelopment proposals have failed to get off the ground.
