Although this photograph has no date attached to it the only car parked up in Ashmole Street appears to be a 1955 Ford Prefect. Many of the photographs of street scenes without dates can be roughly dated by correctly identifying the vehicles parked up on the roads. Behind the Roebuck Public House we can see the famous gasometer which is a feature of watching cricket at the Oval.
