This early photograph of Fentiman Road strikes us first because of its utter lack of motor vehicles. The church on the left was designed by George and Reginald Baines in 1900 in the "usual jolly style of the Methodists" (Pevsner). Nowadays it is Grade II listed as is the Calvary Church of God in Christ. Also note that someone has added an 'X' above one of the houses on the right - maybe where they or someone they knew once lived.
