Video News Services (VNS) a South African video collective has been in operation since 1985. Created to produce video about South Africa, by South Africans, essentially for South Africans, VNS materials are distributed in collaboration with Afravision primarily in South Africa, in large part to mass organizations. A powerful analysis of the escalating violence that followed the launch of the Inkatha Freedom Party in the early 1 990's. This documentary reaches beyond the shocking images to identify forces and interests at work, and to present the views of residents and hostel-dwellers.
